Do I need an account?
No. Accounts are optional. Without one, AutoForge runs in local-only mode: your builds, Garage and service log stay on your device. Create an account (Google or email and password) only if you want to sync your builds, Garage and service records across devices or create share links.
How do I delete my account?
In the app open Settings > Account > Delete account. This immediately and permanently deletes your account, synced builds, Garage and service-log data and shared links. To clear data stored on your device, use Settings > Privacy & data > Delete my data. Full instructions, including deleting by email: ape-app.pages.dev/delete-data.html.
How does VIN scanning work?
Tap “Scan with camera” and point it at the VIN barcode on the door-jamb or windshield sticker. The barcode is read on your device; camera images are never saved or uploaded. Only the VIN you confirm is sent to NHTSA’s vPIC service to look up your vehicle. You can always type the VIN manually instead, and you can revoke camera permission in your device settings.
How do service reminders work?
Add your vehicle to the Garage and log services and odometer readings. Turn on reminders in Settings and AutoForge schedules local notifications on your device when service is due by date or estimated mileage. Reminder data never leaves your device. You can turn reminders off in Settings or in your device’s notification settings.
Why do some parts links earn a commission?
Some “Shop” and “Buy” links (for example eBay Partner Network and other retailer affiliate links) are affiliate links. If you buy through them, AutoForge may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It doesn’t change prices or which parts we show, and retailers’ own privacy policies apply on their sites.
Are dyno numbers and fitment exact?
No. Dyno results are simulated estimates, and fitment and prices come from public sources that can change. Always confirm fitment with the seller or manufacturer before buying.
